The ecobee thermostat recommends minor temperature adjustments throughout the day that maximize energy savings; cools or heats your home during non-peak times when energy is less expensive; and adjusts the temperature to account for ambient humidity so your home always feels like the temperature you’ve set.

Now ecobee has added a collection of accessories that provide advanced features to help you create a smart security system for your home, with your ecobee thermostat acting as a security hub that pairs with your cameras and sensors.

At a glance: The sensors know when you leave your home and will remind you to arm the home to keep it secure. You receive alerts about unexpected entries or motion in the home, and cameras enable you to check in on your home from the app.

You can choose from a robust range of devices and security bundles that include:

• a smart doorbell camera
• the ability to connect Yale and August smart locks to the ecobee app for key-free access
• smoke alarm detection
• break-in/intruder alerts from the wireless SmartSensor that detects interior motion and occupancy and SmartSensor for doors and windows that monitors entryways
• a siren that deters intruders
• a shareable security code for expected visitors
• doorbell chime routing through the thermostat so you can hear it better
