Five Ways to Improve Indoor Air Quality
Air purifiers and air filters keep your home and family healthy

Bloomfield Cooling, Heating & Electric Carrier InfinityEven the fussiest people may not realize that their clean homes contain airborne allergens such as dust, pollen (especially at this time of year), or pet dander. In some cases, there may be toxins floating around in the indoor air, creating health problems for people with respiratory illnesses or allergies.

At Bloomfield Cooling, Heating & Electric, we help homeowners keep their indoor air quality free of “dirty air” with several industry-leading air purification devices and air filters for HVAC systems. These products remove irritating particles from your home as well as unpleasant odors, can reduce the air pollution we don’t always see, and help improve your family’s health.

Here are the five ways Bloomfield Cooling, Heating & Electric helps our customers breathe easy in their homes.

Bloomfield Cooling, Heating & Electric REME HALO

In-duct air purifiers

We install three types of in-duct air purification devices for central heating & air conditioning systems.

  • REME HALO uses electromagnetic technology to purify every cubic inch of air that your central air conditioning system reaches, eliminating viruses and bacteria, particulates, and gases (three major types of indoor air pollutants). We install the REME HALO in the supply plenum of your central HVAC ductwork, where it produces ionized hydrogen peroxide molecules. These are friendly oxidizers that occur in nature. They break down contaminants upon contact by inducing airborne toxins and irritants to stick together; this makes them easier for the system’s filter to catch.
  • iWave uses proprietary ionization technology to inactivate airborne pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and mold as well as allergens. It is installed in your HVAC system’s ductwork.
    • In the case of airborne toxins, the device’s ion generators remove the hydrogen molecules that are the pathogens’ energy source, causing the toxins to die.
    • With allergens, the ions attach to them which causes them to band together into large enough particles for your HVAC system’s air filter to capture them. This results in cleaner indoor air. There are no replacement parts to deal with and iWave is self-cleaning.
  • Blue Tube UV is a whole-house germicidal ultraviolet light that rids your home of microbes and odors. UV light has been used for decades in hospitals to disinfect operating rooms because it kills viruses, bacteria, and germs effectively. Using low-voltage UV light, the Blue Tube UV sterilizes the surfaces within your HVAC system, disinfecting the air as it passes through. It also extends your system’s lifespan and reduces energy and maintenance costs because it keeps the coils free of contaminants.

Bloomfield Cooling, Heating & Electric Bryant Evolution

Whole-home air purifiers

Carrier Infinity® and Bryant Evolution™ whole-home air purifiers capture and kill airborne mold spores and other toxins as small as .01 microns. These premium air filtration solutions inactivate 99% of coronavirus (which still affects many people) and other select viruses and bacteria that the filter captures. They are also convenient to use; just replace the removable media once or twice a year.

Air filters

No HVAC system is complete without HEPA media filters. At Bloomfield Cooling, Heating & Electric, we use highly rated Merv 13 HEPA media filters as the standard when we install new HVAC systems or when we replace filters during our system tune-ups.

These air filters trap air particulates, pollutants, and dust as well as pathogens as the air circulates through your central air conditioning system or furnace. People with seasonal and other allergies benefit greatly from HEPA filters’ work of capturing pollen and dust, dander from pet fur, and harmful mold spores and other irritants. You can read more about Merv ratings and air filters here.
